LEBANESE MARINE ECOSYSTEM
Lebanon has 309 marine species .Some are in extinction due to uncontrolled fishing and
spear fishing and pollution . We will show our detailed species and families. Hopping
fishermen in this country know well their prey maybe they will have the conscious to protect
them. Doing business with marine sea life is the major cause of their lethal fate.
Uncontrolled fish selling by fishermen and spear fishing is the major cause of their
decreasing number. No legal articles are found yet to this act. No surveillance on the size
and weight of catch . Sea food markets , Restaurants and costumer's are asking for smaller
size , example groupers. Pollution is an others cause of our sea disaster .After the war
Between 11 million and 40 million litres (3 - 10.5 million gallons; 10,000 - 15,000 tonnes) of
heavy fuel oil has leaked into the sea. Until now only a fraction was cleaned and no serious
act has been done ,no reliable scientific work has been achieved .Hoping is not my word act
must be done.....
